Just back from my vacation to Alaska and on the last day of the cruise as I walked into the buffet at 5AM for pre-breakfast and to sit on the quiet aft deck, this was song was playing. I have many favorite artists I can listen to all of their songs – The Beatles, Marc Cohan, Bob Seager, Eric Clapton, The Eagles and others.
But this hit my heart hard on Fathers Day and my granddaughters birthday. Losing Jodi has been a hard blow and this is how I feel. I hope to see her again in another life. We were meant to be together and I hope the power lets me be with her again even though I feel not worthy.
I cried as I was eating that breakfast, listening to it in the airport, listening to it now and cannot get it out of my mind. I want to thank Eric for writing this piece, it will make me stronger.
Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on
‘Cause I know I don’t belong here in heaven
Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven?
I’ll find my way through night and day
‘Cause I know I just can’t stay here in heaven
Time can bring you down, time can bend your knees
Time can break your heart, have you begging please, begging please
Beyond the door there’s peace I’m sure
And I know there’ll be no more tears in heaven
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on
‘Cause I know I don’t belong here in heaven
